There will be two bolts that atach the bracket to the rear of the manifold. It should take either a T30 or T40 torx bit if I remember correctly. It's not that difficult to remove once you make room for yourself by removing the cabin air bits. See more

WebApr 13, 2014 · Pretty sure this is just the pump working to push air. Check the hose that runs from it to the check valve for cracks or damage. Also if you have an early e46, prior to 03/04 w/ an m54 motor, take the top cover off it, it unclips. Check the little foam filter in their to make sure it's in tact. It's simple to replace.
